Specialist Nurse in Psychiatry
Residents of Jämtland County in need of specialist psychiatric care receive their treatment in outpatient or inpatient care at Östersund Hospital. The area has approximately 270 employees. Within the psychiatric clinic in Östersund, all specialist care is provided under one roof, which allows for close collaboration within and between professions and great opportunities for personal development for you as an employee.
Residents seeking assessment and care for their acute psychiatric condition come to the Psychiatric Emergency Department. Here, nurses and nursing assistants work closely with doctors and medical secretaries. The emergency department is a dynamic workplace with great variation in daily tasks, and collaboration with other units within the clinic is important.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse with us, you will perform assessments of patients' psychiatric conditions to ensure the right care intervention. This occurs both via phone and in-person visits.
You will have the opportunity to develop in various forms of counseling for patients, relatives, caregivers, and authorities.
We are looking for someone with good collaboration skills as the work often takes place in teams around the patient and can adapt your approach based on the individual and the situation.
Confidence in your professional role is a strength to work independently and structured to integrate into the work, see the whole picture, prioritize, and make quick decisions in difficult situations while conveying calm in stressful situations.
We have close cooperation with our doctor at the clinic and consult with other units and colleagues in many matters.
QUALIFICATIONS
The qualification requirement is a nursing degree.
Specialist training in psychiatry is advantageous.
You have work experience and are confident in your professional role.
It is important that you have a genuine interest in psychiatric care and possess an empathetic ability.
You should have good collaboration skills and enjoy working in a team but can also work independently.
You are an experienced computer user and have good communication skills in both spoken and written form.
We place extra emphasis on personal suitability.
