Our Operations

In the neuro department, specialized and highly specialized care is provided for patients with diseases and injuries of the nervous system. We work with investigation and diagnostics as well as medical and surgical treatment of both acute and chronic neurological and neurosurgical conditions. We offer care to patients from seven regions in Central Sweden and provide national highly specialized care in certain areas to patients from all over Sweden. The complex mission creates good conditions for our employees and the organization to develop.

Within the department, over 450 employees work across three inpatient wards, one day care unit, one neuro intermediate care unit, one neuro intensive care unit, one operating room, and three outpatient clinics. Alongside the clinical operations, there is a high level of research, education, and development in close collaboration with Uppsala University. Our goal is to be nationally and internationally leading in terms of care, research, and teaching within the neuro field.

Your Qualifications

We are now looking for 2 individuals to serve as resident doctors during the summer of 2026, primarily working in the stroke unit 85 B1 and the neurology unit 85 D. The minimum requirement is 9 semesters in the Medical Program in Sweden, including a passed course in neurology or equivalent international education. Good knowledge of Swedish is a requirement.

Your Competence

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Daily work requires teamwork and flexibility. With clarity and communication skills combined with attentiveness, you work with both patients and colleagues across all professional categories. You are engaged and present in the moment. You are open and interested in learning about the latest developments in the field. Previous work in inpatient care is an advantage.

We Offer

We offer a full-time temporary position starting according to agreement. Depending on previous experience, on-call duty may be included, but normally you will work during office hours. Salary according to agreement. The temporary positions start in June 2026 and last for approximately 3 months. Recruitment takes place continuously during the application period.
