About Ferlin
Ferlin is a modern nursing home in Löten with large areas for social interaction, its own garden, large balconies, and proximity to nature. Löten is located 3.5 kilometers north of Uppsala city center and is a popular residential area with good bus connections to the city. Ferlin was built in the 2000s and has 70 apartments spread over 4 floors. 40 of the apartments are intended for people with dementia, 20 apartments for people with care needs, and 10 apartments for people with social psychiatric needs. We also have apartments for couples who want to live together.
Job Description
We are now looking for a physiotherapist for a permanent position at 100% based at Ferlin.
As a physiotherapist with us at Ferlin's nursing and care home, you will meet elderly individuals with varying diagnoses and functional levels who require rehabilitation and habilitation according to municipal health and medical care. The work involves individual functional and activity assessments and prescribing assistive devices, as well as designing, implementing, and evaluating rehabilitation efforts. Team collaboration with occupational therapists, nurses, and care staff is an important part of the work. With the user at the center, you will instruct and inform care recipients, relatives, and care staff and be a resource in the rehabilitative approach within the organization. The work involves independent planning of the workday, which requires both structure and flexibility.
It is important to note that the operation of Ferlin will transition to Ersta Diakoni on 2026-09-01. All employees will then have the right to transfer their employment with the same employment conditions and salary during the transition. From experience, we know that the majority of employees choose to stay at their workplace but with the new care provider. This provides security for our users, their relatives, and also for oneself as an employee that the team remains intact.
Job Tasks
As a Physiotherapist with us, you will have the opportunity to make a difference by putting the patient at the center and contributing with your expertise, knowledge, and commitment in the team around the patient. Your role will involve working with a variety of tasks within your area.
Your more specific job tasks include:
- Assessing the need for and performing physiotherapy treatment and evaluating treatment results
- Collaborating with occupational therapists to conduct transfer assessments and establish rehabilitation plans.
- Supporting the design of meaningful activities together with care staff and activity coordinators.
- Guiding and supporting care staff and colleagues in maintaining functional approaches.
- Where applicable, delegating physiotherapy treatment/exercise programs and following up on these
- Conducting transfer training together with the facility's physiotherapist.
You will participate in team collaboration regarding users, for example concerning fall risk assessments and Senior Alert. As a physiotherapist, you will work together with other licensed staff, care staff at the facility, and the operations manager to ensure quality and patient safety. Our ambition is that you, together with us, develop the operations and yourself in close collaboration with your colleagues. You will be part of the local management team and be involved and proactive in team meetings in each department.
Qualifications
We are looking for a licensed physiotherapist who wants to contribute to creating security and quality for our elderly. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, and are experienced in documentation and working with computers. It is an advantage if you have experience working with elderly people and age-related diseases.
We value that you as a person can easily adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities in changes. You work goal-oriented and focus on results, while being flexible and able to change direction when goals change. You collaborate well with others, are attentive and communicative, and resolve conflicts constructively. You make decisions and act even when information is limited or circumstances are difficult, and you demonstrate good judgment under pressure.
