Our Operations

AVA is one of Uppsala University Hospital's largest wards with 30 beds, and here you will become part of a close-knit team consisting of nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, pharmacists, and other important health professionals, all committed to delivering care of the highest quality. We also have special functions such as discharge nurses and educational nurses, which provide you as an employee with optimal conditions to perform your tasks with high quality. Our success is based on our collective experience and the diversity of ideas and solutions, and we prioritize the working environment of our employees.

At AVA, we primarily care for patients with internal medical diagnoses. Patients with chest pain, heart arrhythmias, heart failure, infections, diabetes, pulmonary embolisms, and venous thromboses come to us. Many of our patients are multi-ill and require extensive care efforts. The lengths of stay are relatively short, which means a high turnover of patients that must be planned and coordinated. The high flow places high demands on flexibility, initiative, decisiveness, and good teamwork.

Your Mission

As a nurse with us at AVA, you will work with specific nursing and treatment of the acutely ill patient. We work in teams consisting of a nurse and a nursing assistant in close collaboration with doctors, and together we take responsibility for the acute care of the patient.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. We are looking for both newly graduated nurses with an interest in internal medicine care and experienced nurses, preferably with a background in emergency care or equivalent. Previous experience in telemetry monitoring is also meritorious. We welcome candidates who are specialist nurses in emergency care or intensive care.
