Area of Operation: Academic Children's Hospital
Small hearts need great care! We are a small hospital in the vastness, and it is precisely in the small that our greatness lies. Here, all the expertise a sick child may need is present, along with good collaboration, respect, and care. We offer a really good introduction for newcomers and many interesting opportunities for development. There is also unexpectedly much joy in what can sometimes be very difficult. We take care of the children and their families, and we take care of each other – because we know that we do a much better job together!
Our Operations
We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with children and adolescents and wants to join us in the Child Protection Team. Our team consists of doctors, pediatric nurses, psychologists, and medical secretaries. The Child Protection Team shares premises with the pediatric specialist clinic in Uppsala and is part of the Children’s Care and Health section within the Academic Children's Hospital.
Our team works cross-professionally and collaborates with other healthcare units and authorities regarding issues concerning children at risk. We conduct education, research, and preventive work. The team operates from a holistic perspective on children's and adolescents' physical, mental, and social health and how these have been affected by potential trauma. We offer tailored introductory training as well as good opportunities for further education, skills development, and research.
Your Mission
You will be a member of a multidisciplinary team where you are one of two specialist nurses. The nurse is an important part of the team and is the “spider in the web.” The main tasks include team visits together with doctors, your own patient consultations, telephone advice, referral assessments, appointment scheduling, and contact with the children's guardians, care neighbors, and authorities.
Education and lectures are part of our mission and are a part of the nurse's responsibilities along with the rest of the team.
Your Qualifications
You are a licensed nurse with specialized training in health and medical care for children and adolescents or a nurse experienced in working with children and adolescents. Experience working with children and adolescents at risk is an advantage. It is desirable that you have experience in lecturing or training and have an interest in development work.
You should have good communication and collaboration skills as the work involves contact with various people, professions, and authorities.
We Offer
Permanent employment at 100%. We apply a probationary period of 6 months.
With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference; read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/ (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/)).
