Description

We are looking for a school librarian for the School Library Central, which is part of the preschool and primary school administration.

You, along with your colleagues, will be responsible for the school libraries of primary schools.

Responsibilities

The tasks are the usual responsibilities at the school libraries. You will be part of the school's reading promotion work in collaboration with the school's educators and literacy developers, and you will provide support to students and teachers in their literature and media usage.

You should easily create good relationships with children of different ages as well as with other adults. You should enjoy and feel comfortable working outwardly in meetings with students and teachers and be able to take on a leadership role. You will function as a partner to the teachers and a support to the students. You are expected to support students with reading and writing difficulties in collaboration with the teachers. You will drive various book projects, conduct book talks with groups of students as well as entire classes, and be available for lending at the different schools. It is an advantage if you collaborate with teachers on information retrieval and source criticism. You should work to spread interest in reading and joy of reading among children, parents, and educators.

Qualifications

You easily create good relationships with children of different ages and with adults.

You have good collaboration skills.

You are responsible, engaged, inspiring, flexible, and have a positive attitude.

Requirements

You should have a degree in library and information science or equivalent academic education deemed suitable by the employer. You have knowledge in media and information literacy (MIL).

Other

Education and previous experience in reading promotion work with children and young people is an advantage. We would like you to have experience working in school libraries.
