The Eye Care Unit operates in both Malmö and Lund. We are at the forefront of both basic and specialist training. In addition to meeting the needs of the residents for eye care in Lund and Malmö, we also provide regional eye care for Halland, Kronoberg, and Blekinge.

We have about 250 employees, including 10 colleagues in the day surgery eye clinic, where we receive both children and adults of all ages. In our highly specialized eye care, we perform diagnostics and surgeries of the retina, cornea, strabismus, tear duct surgeries, and more. The surgeries are performed under both local anesthesia and general anesthesia.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Welcome to us at the Day Surgery Eye Clinic in Lund!

As a nurse, you will work in a team with nursing assistants and/or nursing colleagues. With us, we take care of patients pre- and post-operatively in connection with surgery, and there is some outpatient activity involved in the position. Through continuous development work and a wholehearted focus on each individual, we strive to provide our patients with the safest and highest quality care. We recognize the importance of good mentorship and invest in on-site training to create the best possible learning environment for our employees. We have an individual introduction period of six to eight weeks and internal training for our new employees after you have been employed for a few months.

Working hours are mostly scheduled during the day, Monday to Friday. One day a week, the afternoon shift is scheduled between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Additionally, you will participate in emergency eye care on one to two Saturdays per year, with working hours on that day from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, where you will receive patients who need urgent examinations together with the eye emergency team and nursing assistant. You will also handle phone calls and manage incoming calls from other departments along with the eye emergency team.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish equivalent to at least C1 level according to the Council of Europe's scale are a requirement for the position. Furthermore, we would like you to have a few years of experience working as a nurse. It is advantageous if you have further education in eye care, as well as if you have previously worked in eye care. Experience in day surgery is also a plus for the position. Additionally, we see it as positive if you have previously worked with systems such as Melior, Orbit, and Pasis.
