In Östra Göinge municipality, we have a shared Staffing Unit for the municipality's activities, where our main task is to staff short-term absences. We are now looking for new substitute workers in Health and Care!

I started working as a substitute in the staffing unit during my education. It was a good way to work a bit in the field I was training for. I also thought it might be difficult to get a job right after my education without contacts or experience. By working in the staffing unit, I get the chance to show myself, make connections, and gain experience. I can also work both in special housing and home care. So I get the opportunity to see different operations, which is very fun and educational.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you an empathetic person who wants to make a difference in your work? Do you enjoy having a varied working method? Then you have come to the right place! We at the staffing unit are looking for substitute workers who want to work in elderly care and support for people with disabilities.

In elderly care, which includes home care and special housing, you will provide care, support, and service based on individual needs. This varies from personal care work to various service tasks such as shopping and cooking. In home care, you perform the work in the client's home, where transfers between clients are done by car or bicycle. The work is primarily independent, but some tasks are performed together with colleagues. You will be based in one of our home care groups in Broby, Knislinge, or Sibbhult/Glimåkra. In our special housing facilities, which we have in Sibbhult, Knislinge, and Broby, you will work alongside your colleagues.

In support for people with disabilities, which includes LSS activities and personal assistance, you support the user in their daily life. This may involve help with cooking, household chores, personal hygiene, and support to create good living conditions. You will also stimulate recreational and cultural activities and support the user's participation in society according to individually set goals. The work takes place both in the user's home environment and in our LSS housing in the municipality.

As a substitute worker in the staffing unit, you will step in as needed when regular staff are absent or when there is an extra staffing need. You have the opportunity to decide when you are available for work through our system Medvind but are expected to be available for at least 16 hours per month.

If you are called for an interview, please bring copies of your grades and/or diploma as well as references. For work in home care, you must also be able to present a driver's license.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

You are at least 18 years old, have completed or are currently pursuing a secondary education, preferably in health and care. Adult education or vocational training is considered equivalent to secondary education after individual assessment. If you have experience working in elderly care and support for people with disabilities, it is an advantage.

To thrive in the role, you need to be calm, patient, and have the ability to sense the client's/user's needs and emotional state. You are flexible, responsible, and self-driven. Having good teamwork skills and always putting the client's needs in focus is natural for you, as is following our routines and working methods. With us, you will have a varied and developing job where you support people in their daily lives. Personal suitability is of great importance.

You need to be accustomed to using a computer as a tool in your work. You must be proficient in the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

To work in home care, a B driver's license is required, as well as the ability to cycle to perform daily tasks. To work in any of our special housing facilities or in support for people with disabilities, a B driver's license is not required but is an advantage. During certain hours of the day and on weekends, it may be difficult to reach our facilities by public transport.

The work includes working unsociable hours, i.e., beyond regular daytime hours, evenings/nights, and weekends. Shift work occurs in personal assistance.

You will gain insight into many of the municipality's activities; this insight needs to be treated with respect and humility. It is also important that you share our values and see your role as a support/helping hand to the municipality's operations in their work to make our clients satisfied and proud.
