JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are now looking for a unit manager for the operations and maintenance unit for machinery, a newly established unit that is part of the operations and management department within the community building administration. The department consists of four operations and maintenance units (traffic and street, machinery, parks, and nature and recreation), a planning and management unit, and a unit for vehicles, storage, and workshops.

As a unit manager, you are responsible for the unit's operations, personnel, and finances. The unit consists of about 20 - 25 people with various competencies such as machine operators, truck drivers, and special vehicle drivers. You will have team leaders to assist you, who will lead and follow up on the daily work in operations.
The operations and maintenance unit for machinery manages and is responsible for internal machinery supply to other units in the department, seasonal staffing for other units, and machinery investments for the department. In your role, you will monitor the environment, regulations, and new guidelines that govern and influence operations. As a unit manager, you are part of the department's management team. The work involves contacts with both the municipality's residents, businesses, and organizations as well as within our internal organization.
Different forms of standby may occur within the operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree, for example in engineering or social sciences. If you have work experience that we consider equivalent for the role, that is also relevant for the position. You have good knowledge and experience in managing different environments. The position also requires documented experience in leading, following up, and developing employees in an operational environment, either as a manager or in another supervisory role.
To succeed as a unit manager, you need to have good communication skills. For us, it is about being able to listen and understand on one hand, and on the other hand, convey information clearly and simply, keep others informed, and provide specific and constructive feedback.
We are looking for someone who is goal-oriented, curious, and structured with the ability to notice/anticipate problems and find effective solutions. You understand operational strategies and priorities and apply this knowledge to achieve goals.
As a unit manager, you have the ability to build and maintain good relationships. Collaboration is important, both internally and externally. Therefore, it is crucial that you meet new challenges and conditions with a positive attitude. You take initiative and drive the work forward towards the unit's goals and coordinate resources accordingly.
You need to be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written. A B driver's license for manual transmission is a requirement.
In this recruitment, we use tests as part of the selection process. Test invitations will be sent via email when the application period has ended to candidates who are assessed to meet the qualifications for the position.
The initial interviews are scheduled to be held in the afternoons of February 11-12. Final interviews are planned for the afternoon of February 24.
