In connection with the retirement of Växjö Municipality's CEO, we are now looking for a CEO who, with courage, security, and clear direction, wants to lead and further develop a well-functioning organization. Växjö is an expansive and future-oriented municipality. Växjö faces the task of long-term uniting growth, good welfare, and sustainable economy in a time of demographic changes, increased demands on welfare, and a changing global situation.

About the assignment
As the CEO, you are the highest-ranking official in Växjö Municipality and lead the municipality's collective activities. You ensure governance and direction while actively driving development and movement throughout the organization to achieve the politically decided goals.

With a clear holistic perspective, you lead and develop the municipal group so that departments and companies collaborate effectively to create the best possible quality in welfare and services for the residents of Växjö Municipality.

As the highest-ranking official, you are a role model in leadership and a clear bearer of culture, mission, goals, and direction – both internally and externally. Through your leadership style, you contribute to strengthening Växjö Municipality's brand as a courageous, attractive, and development-oriented municipality. Through a trust-based leadership, you create conditions for shared engagement, drive, and long-term development within the organization.

Your leadership
We are looking for someone who is confident in leading through others and has the ability to develop a strong and well-functioning organization. You thrive in complex environments with many stakeholders and know how to create trust, participation, and progress.

As a person, you are strategic and action-oriented, with the ability to prioritize, make decisions, and gather the organization around common choices. Through your leadership, you contribute to trust, engagement, and clear direction.

You:

We are looking for someone who has:

· relevant academic education

· documented experience of leading leaders at a high strategic level

· successful experience in change and development work in complex organizations

· very good understanding of politically governed operations

· experience of working in public operations

· good ability to express yourself both strategically and operationally, orally and in writing

Experience from the private or public sector in roles with group-wide responsibility is an advantage.
