The Läckö Castle Foundation
Läckö Castle, beautifully located on a peninsula by Lake Vänern in the municipality of Lidköping, is one of the largest tourist attractions in the region. The Läckö Castle Foundation conducts extensive public activities here, including exhibitions, guided tours, children's activities, castle gardens, opera productions, and a wide range of activities at Naturum Vänerskärgården – Victoriahuset.
Naturum Vänerskärgården
A naturum serves as a gateway to nature in general and to a specific natural area in particular. At the naturum, visitors can learn more about animals, plants, geology, and cultural history through exhibitions, lectures, and guided tours. Today, there are about thirty naturum facilities in Sweden, all working on behalf of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. The Läckö Castle Foundation is the principal for Naturum Vänerskärgården.
The building is a well-visited visitor center, beautifully located just a stone's throw from Läckö Castle. In the building, which was inaugurated in 2013, we welcome tens of thousands of visitors each year. With exhibitions and activities for all ages, visitors learn more about Lake Vänern. Our hope is that those who visit us will be inspired and go out to explore Lake Vänern, its archipelagos, and the surrounding area on their own.
