About the job

Familjeläkarna SÄBO is looking for a specialist in geriatrics

Now is your chance to become part of our SÄBO team if you are a specialist in geriatrics.

About us

Familjeläkarna is a healthcare provider run by people who work in healthcare themselves. We believe this makes a difference. We offer a wide range of services within Primary Care, Elderly Care, Geriatrics, and Palliative Care. We want to provide the care we would want for our own family.

Familjeläkarna is a learning and curious organization that continuously works to develop healthcare. We are a flat organization with short decision-making paths, good collaboration, and community among our operations. With us, there is joy at work and energy.

We work in teams, and you will have the opportunity to use your medical expertise to organize and plan care. We have well-functioning work methods that support you in focusing on the patient. With us, you can continue to develop your professional skills.

We are now looking for new doctors to join our growing medical organization! Familjeläkarna is taking on medical responsibility for new special accommodations, SÄBO, for the elderly, and we are now looking for you who want to be part of our wonderful medical team.

We offer you a positive and developing workplace with a clear patient focus, where you have great opportunities to influence and shape your work with all the flexibility it entails, while also offering a competitive salary based on your skills and experience.

Job description and responsibilities

The work is based in special accommodations for which Familjeläkarna has medical responsibility, and there you will have the opportunity to work in a multiprofessional team with nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and care staff. You will work from home and have medical responsibility for the patients in the accommodations you visit regularly during the week, usually visiting one accommodation per day. You will also have time allocated for administration, and a large part of the administrative work can advantageously be done remotely, for example, from home. The work, which is scheduled during weekdays, consists of rounds, planned and acute home visits, admissions, in-depth medication reviews, and follow-ups. We place great emphasis on contact with relatives and continuity, and there are good opportunities to follow the patient over time. We have our own on-call doctor service available 24/7 for our patients, which you can also participate in if you have interest and desire.

We document in the Take Care journal system. You have the opportunity to dictate most notes, and we have a large group of secretaries who quickly transcribe the dictations and help ensure that all administration is correct so you can focus on the medical aspects.

Our doctors have a genuine interest in the health of the elderly, and most are specialists in geriatrics and/or general medicine. In our medical group, which consists of about 50 doctors, we also have access to specialist expertise in areas such as neurology, internal medicine, cardiology, palliative medicine, pulmonary medicine, kidney medicine, etc. We support each other when needed, both in medical and collegial matters, and you will always be able to discuss and get help from an experienced colleague so you do not have to stand alone in difficult situations. Ongoing supervision is offered by specialist doctors in the team, and there are also good opportunities to supervise colleagues if there is interest.

Qualifications

We are primarily looking for you who are a specialist in geriatrics or general medicine. We would like you to have experience working with the elderly, although it is not a requirement.

Your language skills in Swedish correspond to at least a documented C1 level. It is important that you can communicate fluently with patients, relatives, and colleagues.

Personal skills and attributes

We are looking for someone who is particularly interested in working with elderly patients and who is meticulous and structured in their work. It is important that you are clear and have good pedagogical skills in your interactions with others, have a high sense of service, are communicative, and have a professional demeanor. As a person, you have the ability to see the whole picture, want to work transprofessionally, and have good collaboration skills. It is also an advantage if you enjoy being able to independently plan your day with the flexibility and responsibility that entails.

If this sounds interesting, do not hesitate to contact us for further information!

Warm welcome with your application!
