Hooks Herrgård is a place where tradition meets innovation – just 20 minutes south of Jönköping. Here, nature, gastronomy, golf, and one of Scandinavia's leading spa facilities come together. Food is a central part of the experience with us, and our kitchen is one of the cornerstones of the entire operation.

We are now looking for a Head Chef who wants to take overall responsibility for our culinary experience and continue to develop Hooks Herrgård as a destination for food and life enthusiasts.

About the role

As Head Chef at Hooks Herrgård, you will have overall responsibility for several kitchen units and be a key person in our ongoing journey and development. The role is both strategic and operational - you lead, inspire, and develop the kitchen team with responsibility and clarity. For us, leadership is as much about structure and quality as it is about joy at work, participation, and courage.

You will report directly to our F&B Manager - Gregory Gosse, and work closely with him and other departments at the facility. Together, you will further develop our culinary concepts, working methods, and guest experiences – with the goal of creating holistic experiences where food, service, and environment interact in the best possible way.

You will be responsible for:

  • The Manor Restaurant – breakfast, lunch, and dinner year-round

  • Hooks Bistro – seasonal restaurant, open April–October. Popular among golf guests and drop-in visitors

  • The Bakery – conference snacks with homemade cakes, freshly baked bread, cakes & desserts

  • Spa – cold dishes for our spa guests such as shrimp sandwiches and bowls.(in conjunction with our ongoing spa expansion, the food concept will be further developed)

The kitchen team currently consists of about 20 passionate employees, led by the current head chef Alexander Frejd. We work with locally sourced ingredients, craftsmanship, and sustainability in focus – always with respect for the ingredient, the guest, and each other.

Daily tasks:

  • Lead, coach, and develop the kitchen team

  • Ensure quality, taste, and presentation

  • Drive menu development with a focus on seasonality, sustainability, and guest experience

  • Budget responsibility and cost control

  • Scheduling and staffing

  • Collaboration with F&B and other departments

We believe you are...

…a confident and present leader who spreads joy, respect, and engagement around you. You are passionate about food, flavor, and quality – but equally about working with people and developing both the team and the business. You thrive in a role where you can combine structure and responsibility with creativity and inspiration.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has extensive experience in kitchen leadership

  • Has broad industry experience, preferably from larger facilities with restaurants, hotels, and spas

  • Is comfortable with budget work and scheduling

  • Is creative, quality-conscious, and solution-oriented

  • Is a leader who spreads joy, respect, and engagement

We offer:
  • An enjoyable and meaningful leadership role with significant responsibility and freedom

  • The opportunity to influence and develop gastronomy, concepts, and people

  • A warm and dedicated team where joy, responsibility, and collaboration are an integral part of everyday life

  • Good employee benefits and an employer in constant development

Start date: Immediately or by agreement. Working hours: Weekdays, daytime. Weekends and public holidays as needed.
