The Administrative Court of Appeal in Stockholm is Hiring a Reporting Lawyer

The Administrative Court of Appeal in Stockholm is the largest of Sweden's four administrative courts and is also the country's migration court of appeal. The court has about 200 employees, of which about 140 are lawyers, including approximately 60 permanent judges.

The organization consists of four adjudicating departments, one case administrative department, and one administrative unit.

The court handles approximately 600 different types of cases, with the most common cases relating to migration, social insurance, and tax law.

The court continuously develops its working methods to meet citizens' demands for legal certainty, efficiency, transparency, and accessibility.

Job Responsibilities

As a reporting lawyer, you will have the opportunity to gain broad and in-depth knowledge in the legal areas that occur at the court. The court is looking for reporting lawyers who want to work with qualified legal matters at the appellate level. As a reporting lawyer, you will prepare cases, conduct legal investigations, and draft proposals for judgments and decisions. You will present cases for decisions and take notes during oral hearings. You will stay updated and informed about issues related to current legal areas and contribute to the court's operational development.

As a reporting lawyer at the court, you will receive relevant training and continuous professional development by handling and discussing the many issues that arise in the court's diverse types of cases. You will work closely with other reporting lawyers and experienced judges. There is an opportunity for remote work one day a week.

Qualifications

You should have a law degree and be qualified as a clerk with the clerkship completed preferably by March 31, 2026, or have at least two years of experience in other legal work in court. You should have good legal knowledge, strong analytical skills, and good judgment. It is important that you can express yourself well in both speech and writing. You should also be meticulous and able to plan, organize, and prioritize your tasks. It is essential that you enjoy collaborating and contributing from an employee perspective.

In addition to court experience, good knowledge in the areas of tax, migration, and social insurance is advantageous, as well as experience working in an administrative authority where these legal areas are handled.

To be considered for employment at the Administrative Court of Appeal in Stockholm, you must be suitable based on high standards of judgment related to a strong security awareness. This also means that you should uphold democratic values and follow Swedish laws. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.

The court will conduct background checks on those it intends to employ.

Employment

The employment is a permanent position with a six-month probationary period. Individual salary setting applies. Start date is according to agreement.

Eligibility Requirements

According to the Act (1971:289) on General Administrative Courts, a reporting lawyer in the administrative court must be a Swedish citizen.
