Your Role

As a Strategic Buyer, you will primarily work with the supply of components and materials within a manufacturing industry at a strategic level, but operational elements may also be part of the role. The role involves close collaboration with various functions within the production unit as well as with sales and development.

Collaboration also occurs within the business area and together with group purchasing.

The role also includes supplier development and contract negotiation, as well as the development, planning, and implementation of effective purchasing strategies in line with the company's business strategy. The focus is also on optimizing costs, quality, delivery, and reliability of suppliers and delivered products. It is important to ensure that the supplier base maintains high quality and has the capacity to meet the company's current and future needs.

Main Responsibilities:

• Ensure that we achieve high quality, delivery reliability, and the right total cost for our most important components
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure long-term relationships and appropriate purchasing terms
• Monitor supplier performance, including quality, delivery time, and delivery reliability
• Follow market trends, supplier landscape, and industry standards
• Ensure that purchasing activities are conducted in a businesslike manner and in accordance with applicable regulations and laws

Your Profile

You have experience as a Strategic Buyer. We prefer that you have a relevant education for the position, but this is not a requirement. To thrive in the role, you possess a good ability to collaborate as you will work in various forums and project groups. You have a proven work structure and are motivated by having freedom under responsibility.

We also appreciate creativity and that you are not afraid to come up with new ideas and suggestions regarding both large and small aspects of daily work. You have the ability to see the big picture but can also delve into details and see connections. Since we participate in many different projects, it is an advantage to be able to apply an analytical approach to solve new tasks.

Requirements for the Role:

• Good Swedish and English in both spoken and written form
• Driver's license (B) as travel may be required in the position
• Flexible regarding travel outside the country

Meritorious:

• Experience in negotiation and contracts. Analytical skills, cost tracking
• Education in technology and/or economics at the university level, preferably with a focus on Purchasing and Supply Chain.
• Good knowledge of Office Suite
• Good knowledge of Monitor

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may entail requirements for certain citizenship.
