The forensic psychiatric clinic in Säter is responsible for highly specialized care at the county, regional, and national levels. We primarily care for patients according to the law on forensic psychiatric care, but also patients who become ill during ongoing criminal care or during detention. We have a total of 76 care places divided into seven departments staffed by nurses and caregivers.

Nurses and caregivers work together in care teams and collaborate with the clinic. Treatment teams include social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, addiction treatment specialists, and doctors.

On the ward, we work with case management where caregivers and nurses are responsible for their patients. You will participate in the daily care work on the ward. We work to offer patients skills that promote recovery. The forensic psychiatric clinic is undergoing an improvement process regarding the care process and the introduction of more care and treatment measures, which you will be a part of. Working in forensic psychiatry is both developing and interesting.

Caregiver, Ward 36 Forensic Psychiatry Säter

Job Responsibilities

Ward 36 is a class 3 ward, which means that patients cared for under LRVm are planned for security class 3 when the patient is assessed to be in the transition phase. It can also include patients under other care forms such as LRVu and during ongoing ÖRV. Patients cared for in ward 36 often have many privileges and have progressed further in their care and treatment. Patients also have access to their own electronic communication devices such as mobile phones and computers. Patients do not need to pass through general entry control with metal detectors and X-ray equipment.

As a caregiver in the daily care work, you work as a contact person integrated into the care team with responsibility for the patients' care process, including care and treatment measures. You collaborate with the treatment team and doctors through rounds and care planning. We work to offer patients skills that promote recovery. The care is based on individual needs and conditions. Patients may need supportive conversations and assistance with various matters, such as their finances. They may also need support with ADL and motivational treatment.

We work closely with the patient and therefore need to be able to receive and manage various emotional expressions such as anxiety, worry, joy, and anger. An important part of the job is to see the person behind the crime/illness/mental disorder, where you observe and motivate/support the patient to have a functioning everyday life. Documentation and reports. Conversations and assessments. Various activities. Everyday life should function, and this work includes having various responsibilities such as the kitchen, serving meals during the day, storage, orders, and some cleaning. We should be adult role models and be able to provide patients with various skills that lead to a transition from the clinic to housing and other interventions through the municipality and outpatient care.

The position is full-time, day/night, permanent.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained caregiver/nursing assistant.

Requirements:

• You have completed the Health and Care program or the vocational package Health and Care in adult education, or have a YH education as a caregiver in Psychiatric operations, 400 credits, or equivalent relevant education

Meritorious:

• Experience in psychiatry

We are looking for someone with good collaboration skills who wants to work in a team where the patient is an obvious member. We would like you to be interested in working with care and treatment measures for the patient. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
