At the ambulance station in Sälen, 11 employees work. We have a good working climate, we care for each other, and we have fun together. We work with individual schedule planning and the job involves shifts both day, night, and weekends. When you start with us, you will be based at our new, fresh ambulance station that we moved into in the spring of 2023. Here, there is a gym, sauna, overnight room, and everything else needed to manage ambulance care (large garage, plenty of storage, large meeting room, lounge, and a large washing hall). Nurse, Ambulance Station Sälen

Job Responsibilities

Are you an ambulance nurse or a nurse who wants to turn adventure into everyday life? At the ambulance in Sälen and Älvdalen, you are offered a challenging and exciting job, great colleagues, unique patient contact, and an active outdoor life with hiking, cycling, and skiing in a mountain environment. Challenges provide broad competence and cohesion. As a nurse in ambulance care, you work with pre-hospital emergency care where you meet patients of all ages who have suffered from acute illness or injury. You assess and treat patients at home, at the scene of the accident, and during transport to a healthcare facility. The focus is on good care and compassion in patient interactions. Working at the ambulance in Sälen sometimes means challenging conditions. Sometimes resources may be further away than if you work in a larger city. This means that we who work here gain a broad knowledge base and extensive competence. We also have great cohesion at the station by helping each other. During the winter season, summer season, and larger events, the number of visitors increases, and Sälen transforms from a village to a city. The types of ambulance cases can vary greatly; those vacationing in the mountains are creative and may experience various accidents and sometimes need our help. We often collaborate with other organizations such as mountain rescue, police, fire services, ski patrollers, medical clinics, and the mountain facilities' on-site medical services. We care for each other and have fun together. With us, you will work both independently and in a team with colleagues. Collaboration and knowledge exchange are important for the best possible care of the sick and injured, as well as to contribute to a good working climate. We place great importance on your personal qualities, that you have a positive attitude and are engaged. You need to be confident in your professional role, have a genuine interest in people, and always keep the patient in focus.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• You must be a licensed nurse
• Specialist nurse degree with a focus on ambulance care (not required for temporary positions). If you do not have specialist training in ambulance care when you apply to us, you must undergo the training within an agreed timeframe. Some support for attending the training is provided by the employer.
• You must have a driver's license with permission to drive a passenger vehicle with a total weight over 3.5 tons. If you do not have the permission when you apply to us, you must start the driver's license category C1 within an agreed timeframe. The employer covers health examinations and driving school costs.
• You must be approved according to the ambulance care guidelines of Dalarna regarding employment tests and introductory training
• Swimming ability, 200 meters, certificate required.

Meritorious:

• Specialist nurse degree with a focus on ambulance care
• Experience working in ambulance care
• Prio1 qualification
• PS/PHTLS/AMLS training
