Park Workers Wanted for Street/Park/Harbor

The Technical Division operates in its own right and consists of five areas: Street/Park/Harbor, Nyköping Water, Waste Management, Municipal Properties, and Meal Services. These are supported by a project department, finance department, and an administrative staff. The division employs about 400 staff and has an annual turnover of over 1 billion SEK. Our clients are the Municipal Executive Board, the Environmental and Community Planning Committee, and the Culture and Recreation Committee.

The Street, Park, Harbor division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of streets, parks, and Nyköping Harbor on behalf of the Building and Technical Committee, as well as certain recreational facilities on behalf of the Culture and Recreation Committee. The operation ensures that Nyköping has a functional and safe street and road system that meets the needs of traffic safety, security, and accessibility. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Street/Park/Harbor division is looking for engaged and skilled park workers to maintain the municipality's parks, green areas, and playgrounds during the spring and summer seasons. The tasks for seasonal employees may vary but mainly consist of caring for plantings, weeding, mowing, pruning, some waste management, and watering.

Some weekend work may occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for candidates who:

• have a B driver's license
• understand and master Swedish

Preferred qualifications include:

• education and/or experience in park work
• experience operating and handling machinery used in park work, e.g., ride-on mowers

You will work in teams, so we want you to be able to collaborate easily with others, but also to work independently. You are social and service-oriented; it is important that you interact with citizens and tourists in a positive and pleasant manner. It is essential that you accept and act according to our values and are a good ambassador for the municipality.

The work is largely physical, so we are looking for individuals who appreciate this type of work, enjoy being outdoors in varying weather, and have good physical fitness.
