Job Description

As a cook, you will have a developing job where you prepare good, safe, and healthy meals for our patients and visitors. Together with colleagues, you lay the foundation for effective care. You will have variety as you work with everything from daily planning and preparation of meals and special diets to setting tables, following up, and conducting self-checks. Your skills are an important part of the development work for sustainable meal production.

The work is scheduled during the day on both weekdays and weekends.

To contribute to good service in the role of cook, you need:

• a strong commitment and interest in food
• to be meticulous and responsible
• to have a good attitude and work well with others
• to have the ability and willingness for both professional and personal development
• to be goal-oriented, self-driven, and flexible

For the position, you must have completed a high school education in restaurant and food or equivalent vocational training, current knowledge of food hygiene, and several years of experience as a cook. Furthermore, you must communicate fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written, and be able to easily engage in dialogue with customers and colleagues as well as follow and understand written and verbal work instructions. Since working in a kitchen is physically demanding, you need to have the physical capacity to stand and walk throughout the workday, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks.

In the coming years, our journey within Meals will be digitized, which requires our future employees to be comfortable using digital tools.

Previous experience working in large kitchens in the public sector is an advantage for the position.

The position is a temporary employment where the degree of employment varies based on the needs of the operation. Selection and interviews may occur continuously during the application period. Questions about the position are handled by unit managers Johanna Warén and Lisa Smidfelt.
