The Parks and Forestry Department is responsible for Borås parks, nature reserves, playgrounds, forests, and waterways for fishing and recreation. Do you want to help plan, manage, and create beautiful and functional parks and public spaces?

Landscape ArchitectResponsibilities

As a landscape architect in the Parks Unit, you will be part of the team responsible for the municipality's outdoor environment in the Parks and Forestry Department, and developing plans for the development and renovation of various parks and natural areas.

You will also collaborate with your colleagues to produce strategic documents, park programs, and maintenance plans. This involves planning and managing projects from start to finish. You will act as one of the municipality's experts on green structure, both internally and externally through: citizen dialogue, contact with contractors, and other internal and external stakeholders.

You will participate in processes for the development and management of public spaces such as parks, urban forests, streets, and squares. Work strategically and operationally with the management of the municipality's parks and urban forests.

In this role, you will drive projects - individually or in groups within the Parks Unit's area of activity from design and planning to procurement and construction. You will participate in and develop marketing and communication for current projects and green development areas, as well as handle error reports within the responsibilities of the Parks and Forestry Department.


Additional InformationQualifications

We are looking for someone who is an educated Landscape Architect LAR/MSA and has experience from municipal or state operations and/or as a consultant.

You have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing. You are comfortable taking significant personal responsibility and initiating actions that you ensure are completed! You are outgoing, attentive, unpretentious, and good at collaborating with others. You thrive in a high-paced and sometimes varied work environment with many contacts. Having good knowledge of AutoCAD, GIS programs, and the Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent will facilitate a smooth transition into the work at the Parks Unit. We place great importance on personal suitability and are looking for someone who has the ability to quickly find solutions to emerging problems in a structured manner.
