About the workplace

The department consists of 19 employees and belongs to the municipality's technical administration. Streets/Parks is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the municipality's public land. This includes work related to green areas, plantings, playgrounds, as well as streets and roads.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a park worker, you will work both independently and in a team to create and maintain attractive outdoor environments for the municipality's residents. The tasks may include:

• Maintenance of green areas, flowerbeds, and plantings
• Mowing grass and bushes
• Weeding and planting
• Cleaning and maintenance in parks and along walking and cycling paths
• Supervision of playgrounds and simple repairs
• Watering and irrigation systems
• Other tasks related to the operation and maintenance within streets/parks
• The work is physical and mostly takes place outdoors regardless of the weather

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a genuine interest in outdoor work and the maintenance of green environments
• Is responsible, service-oriented, and enjoys practical work
• Has good collaboration skills and enjoys being part of a team
• Has a B driver's license
• Has knowledge of machine handling (lawnmowers, brush cutters, trimmers, etc.)
• Has gardening education or equivalent
• Has previous experience in parks/street, gardening, or similar
• Good physical work capacity as the job is physically demanding

Desirable experiences:

• Pruning skills (of trees common in park environments)
• Good plant knowledge
