The Parks Unit consists of 12 wonderful and competent park workers working closely with the Parks Office, which includes the department head/city gardener, unit manager, gardener, landscape engineer, and nature conservation officer. During the summer months, the staff is reinforced with an additional 15 seasonal park workers.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Would you like to be part of our wonderful team at the Parks Department in Kumla? We are now looking for park workers for the 2026 season.

The work as a park worker in Kumla municipality involves working in varied environments with the maintenance and upkeep of public green spaces, playgrounds, schoolyards, parks, nature close to urban areas, and sports facilities. You will be involved in tasks such as lawn mowing, planting, weed control, and watering.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is handy and enjoys practical outdoor work at a fast pace. We prefer that you have a relevant gardening education or documented equivalent experience, but we place great importance on your willingness to work and ability to learn.

We seek a responsible person who can work both independently and as part of a team. As a park worker, you will meet many citizens and be one of the faces of the municipality. Good service and a pleasant demeanor are therefore important. We appreciate flexibility and initiative, as well as the ability to perform work with a good touch. We place great emphasis on personal suitability, and since the job can occasionally be physically demanding, you need to be in good physical shape.

Other merits include a driver's license and experience working with various gardening machines such as leaf blowers, brush cutters, hedge trimmers, lawn mowers, chainsaw certification, road work, good local knowledge, and tractor experience.
