Building and maintaining roads and infrastructure is significant. Contributing to societal development is even greater. With us, you can do both. At Svevia, we combine the camaraderie and team spirit of a small company with the stability of a large corporation. Here, you will have the opportunity to develop as a road specialist - with commitment, collaboration, and responsibility.

We are now looking for a Traffic Engineer to be based at our regional office in Grimboåsen, Gothenburg. Our business is an important piece of the puzzle in the investment towards safe workplaces and a secure traffic environment. We are looking for someone who, like us, is passionate about road safety!

About the role of Traffic Engineer

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, permit management, and follow-up of traffic arrangements in projects. The role is central to ensuring safety, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance in road work.

You will work with:

  • Traffic Plans: Develop and review traffic arrangement plans for construction projects, including signage and barriers. Ensure that the plans meet legal requirements and contribute to a safe working environment.

  • Permit Management: Manage communication with authorities and handle permits related to traffic arrangements.

  • Costing and Bidding: Support costing and bidding work with cost-effective solutions.

  • Safety and Work Environment: Provide advice and support regarding safety at road work sites and ensure compliance with Work on Roads and work environment legislation.

  • Administration and Follow-up: Support project management with administration, processing, and follow-up of time, cost, quality, and risks.

Who are you?

You have previous experience in developing and reviewing traffic plans, and we also see that you are familiar with permit management with authorities, preferably the Transport Agency and the City of Gothenburg. As a person, you are problem-solving and, based on your ability to structure and plan, you have a solutions-focused approach while seeing collaboration with both colleagues and clients as a natural part of your role.

A driving license (B) and fluency in Swedish, both spoken and written, are required.

Meritorious:

  • Experience in costing and bidding work related to traffic arrangements.

  • Relevant education in construction, civil engineering, or traffic planning.

  • Competence in Work on Roads (according to the Transport Agency's requirements).

  • Good understanding of work environment legislation and safety requirements.

This role is one of two positions we are currently recruiting for in our Traffic Arrangement organization in the Gothenburg area. We are also looking for a Site Manager for our operations - here you can read more about that role.
