Our Operations

The Women's Health department at Akademiska sjukhuset includes the sections of obstetrics and gynecology, including the reproductive center. Our operations provide both outpatient and inpatient care, and a large part of the production consists of highly specialized care for patients from other regions. Our goal is to provide excellent medical care with good communication and proper nursing. We work from a holistic perspective on collaboration between different professional categories. Research is a significant component of our operations, and we collaborate with many units both within and outside the hospital. The Women's Health department also has physicians in further training in obstetrics and gynecology and resident doctors working in the gynecology emergency department and on the maternity ward.

Your Mission

As a resident physician, you will work across all areas of the section during the 5-year residency training. The work is scheduled for daytime, evening, and weekends. As a university hospital, we have a strong interest in education and research. The clinic organizes residency teaching one afternoon every other week, in addition to ongoing training during morning meetings with case presentations and lectures for one hour each week for all clinic physicians. On-call duties are included, starting after about six months. Since we are a university hospital, much teaching is conducted within our operations. Mentoring future colleagues will also be part of the role.

Your Qualifications

Medical degree. Experience in a temporary position and/or scientific specialization in the field is advantageous. We also appreciate an interest in gynecology and obstetrics.

Your Competence

We place great importance on good collaboration skills with all professions, an empathetic approach, and a strong ability to take initiative. You have the ability to put the patient at the center and appreciate varied tasks within both planned and acute care. You possess good clinical judgment and can prioritize under high pressure. When filling the position, we place great emphasis on personal suitability.
