Blekinge Air Wing is looking for Technical Officer to the Wing Staff

Do you want to influence Sweden's defense capability? Are you someone who enjoys fast changes, challenges, and problem-solving? Then you are the one we are looking for. Blekinge Air Wing is a unit that is constantly on the right path, and you will be a key person for the unit. Together, we create the capability to conduct operations both within and outside Sweden.

We are looking for someone who wants to work with logistics, particularly within the technical service area.

The Wing Staff supports the Wing Commander in leading and monitoring operations, preparing decision-making materials, and supporting other commanders within the unit. The Wing Staff A4 manages and functionally leads the logistics service within the wing.

Main Responsibilities

You will be placed at A4 in the Wing Staff where your main task as a Technical Officer is to prepare and handle tasks within technical service. Examples of tasks include supporting the Technical Chief of the Wing in functional issues, supporting and developing material maintenance services, monitoring local commissioning during supply, and routines for decommissioning material. Furthermore, it includes obtaining and taking action according to technical orders (TO) for material. Other examples of tasks are to support and conduct supplementary technical training, support and follow up on deviations within technical service, and participate in operations, missions, and exercise planning regarding technical service.

Since logistics involves many stages and functions, this means you will have a broad work spectrum, which requires you to independently handle and prepare various matters at different tempos.

Qualifications:

  • Professional officer examination SO 6/7.
  • Good knowledge of the Armed Forces' maintenance systems and organization.
  • Familiar with existing support systems for planning, execution, and follow-up.
  • Driver's license B (manual transmission).
  • The work requires that you have very good computer skills, as much of the work is carried out in the SAP (PRIO) system.

Meritorious:

  • Knowledge of and experience with PRIO and LIFT.
  • Higher driver's license category.
  • Knowledge in material maintenance within the Armed Forces.

Personal Qualities:

We are looking for someone with personal qualities characterized by great accuracy and good collaboration skills. You have a very good structure in your work and are used to working at different tempos. You can handle a large amount of information and switch between different tasks throughout the day. While it is about managing existing work, you should not be averse to driving developmental work and identifying areas for improvement. It is also important that you have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability for the position.

The position is a SO 6/7. The position is a permanent employment that begins with a 6-month probationary period.

Information about the Armed Forces and the recruiting unit:

Blekinge Air Wing trains three combat units; two fighter squadrons with Jas 39 Gripen and one base unit. The fighter squadrons are an important part of protecting Sweden's airspace, known as incident readiness. The base unit is the largest combat unit that includes everything needed to get the Gripen aircraft in the air. This includes maintenance of the aircraft, protection of the base, logistics, and operation of the airfield. The wing also trains the Air Force's only ranger unit, the airbase rangers. Their task includes gathering information through reconnaissance and protecting the personnel and vehicles of the air combat forces.
