About the Department
The Nautical Department is responsible for the navy's navigation training, which includes everything from theoretical navigation education, simulator exercises to basic practical navigation training with the department's boats.
Your workplace is located within the Naval Base in Karlskrona. Here you will work in a close-knit team consisting of approximately 13 people, including both women and men, civilians and military personnel of varying ages. The position is primarily based in Karlskrona, during daytime hours from 07:30 to 16:30 with a flexible working agreement. You also have the opportunity for training 3 hours/week during working hours.
We train both conscripts and sailors, specialist officers, and officers from basic level up to university level. The nautical training for specialist officers and officers is conducted according to the course plans of Linnaeus University, but the training is mostly carried out by and at the Nautical Department.
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead the planning, implementation, and examination of primarily officer training, where you will work independently as well as together with other teachers in the department. The navigation training covers all nautical subfields such as terrestrial navigation, nautical instruments, radar theory, maritime traffic regulations, astronomical navigation, ARPA, ECDIS, GMDSS, etc.
- Participate in practical training moments as a FRB and boat instructor.
- Conduct training sessions in the department's new navigation simulator.
- Develop, enhance, and update the department's training materials, particularly related to the new navigation simulator.
Qualifications
- Completed and approved basic professional officer training.
- Military nautical qualification, at least N5.
- Several years of service in a nautical position aboard naval vessels.
DESIRABLE
- Basic education and/or experience in pedagogy.
- Experience with fast vessels.

More about the Employment
The position is a military permanent employment at 100% with a 40-hour workweek. Work location: Karlskrona. Start date: By agreement.
Salary: Individual salary setting applies.
Travel may occur in the position.
The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority.
