Procurement Officer at Upplands-Bro Municipality

In Upplands-Bro Municipality, we are about 2000 employees working to provide our residents and visitors with the best possible service and experience of the municipality. With us, you help build a municipality where a holistic view, engagement, and professionalism permeate the organization, and together we work to fulfill our common societal mission.

We are looking for a procurement officer who wants to play a key role in ensuring that we obtain the right products and services at the best possible price while adhering to laws, regulations, and promoting sustainable solutions.

With us, you will work through the entire procurement process, from needs analysis to follow-up, and be part of an engaged team where collaboration and development are in focus.

Job Description

As a procurement officer with us, you will have a key role in driving and developing our procurement operations. You will work strategically and operationally throughout the procurement process—from identifying the organization's needs and developing procurement strategies to advertising, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts. An important part of your work is to ensure that our purchases are made in a businesslike and sustainable manner while complying with legislation and regulations, such as LOU.

In your daily work, you will collaborate with various departments to understand their needs and design procurements that provide the best possible quality and cost-effectiveness. You will analyze the market, write procurement documents, and ensure that contracts are clear and fair. After procurements, you will follow up and evaluate compliance with contracts and support the organization with advice and guidance on purchasing issues.

The role also involves close collaboration with colleagues in procurement, contract management, and legal affairs. Together, we develop our working methods, strengthen relationships with suppliers, and work to ensure an efficient and sustainable procurement operation. Here, you will have the opportunity to influence while being part of an engaged team where we support and develop each other.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree or vocational training in economics, law, technology, or another relevant background, or equivalent experience as assessed by the employer.
  • Experience in procurement or strategic purchasing, preferably in the public sector.
  • Very good knowledge of LOU—preferably also familiar with LOV, LUF, and LUK.
  • Experience working with procurement documents, contracts, and bid evaluations.
  • The ability to independently drive procurements but also to work in a team.
  • An interest in developing and improving working methods in purchasing and procurement.

To thrive in this role, we believe you are analytical, solution-oriented, curious, and have strong communication skills. You have a natural ability to collaborate and create sustainable business relationships.

About the Position

The position is a permanent employment. A probationary period may apply. Start date according to agreement.
