We are looking for a strategic buyer for an assignment within the defense industry – an environment where business, technology, and social benefit meet. The role is particularly focused on purchasing and supplier work related to mechanics, components, and manufacturing-related products. You will become a key person in one of Sweden's most advanced industrial projects and work in an international organization with high demands for structure, quality, and sustainability.

As a consultant, you will be responsible for commercial arrangements, supplier development, and strategic purchasing work in close collaboration with technology, development, and production functions. Here, you will combine business acumen with technical understanding of mechanical systems, materials, processes, and lifecycle perspectives.

You will work both operationally and strategically with suppliers and purchasing categories within the mechanics area. Your responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing purchasing strategies within mechanics and manufacturing-related areas ⚙️

• Negotiating commercial terms and drafting robust supplier agreements 🤝

• Driving category strategies and coordinating supplier teams together with technology and production

• Establishing and developing relationships with existing and new suppliers, both nationally and internationally 🌎

• Monitoring supplier performance related to cost, lead time, quality, and delivery capability 📊

• Leading improvement initiatives and contributing to more efficient purchasing and supplier structures in the long term 🚀

• Clear and anchored purchasing strategies within mechanics categories

• Well-negotiated and governing supplier agreements

• Stable supply chain with measurable improvements in cost, quality, and delivery

• Active risk management and continuous supplier development

• Structured documentation and reporting according to the client's processes

You are a business-driven strategic buyer with a clear interest in technology – particularly in mechanics, manufacturing, or component level. You understand the interplay between business, product lifecycle, and technical requirements.

• Academic degree in economics, industrial economics, or another relevant field

• 3–7 years of experience in strategic purchasing, procurement, or project management

• Documented negotiation experience in complex and international environments 🌍

• Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

• Experience from the defense, aerospace, automotive, or manufacturing industry

• Mechanical/technical understanding, for example regarding components, materials, manufacturing processes, or lifecycle cost ⚙️

• Experience working in larger organizations with many stakeholders
