As a geriatrician in primary care at Hönö Health Center, you play a key role in the local community and contribute to making Öckerö municipality a better place for people in all stages of life. We are a private health center with an agreement with Västra Götaland Region. Our goal is to offer our patients high accessibility and continuity with high generalist competence. We are about 20 employees working together to provide increasingly person-centered and accessible care. We are a health center undergoing change and development with a strong focus on patient interaction, and we prioritize medical quality and patient safety above all.

In a changing healthcare world, we prioritize based on patient needs and adapt our working methods when we see the need. For example, we are currently working to develop and improve the processes around fixed doctor contacts and responsible physicians. Here, you will have the opportunity to help shape the work in our general medicine team. We value professional personal interaction, continuity, accessibility, and long-term commitment to our patients. The team consists of experienced nurses who run their own clinics, a receptionist, a medical secretary, and nursing assistants who drive and develop our lab and sampling operations.

We wish to strengthen our medical team and are looking for an engaged and flexible specialist in geriatrics who wants to work with this target group. Hönö Health Center has many elderly patients registered and about 150-200 patients in special housing or receiving municipal primary care. The tasks are varied, including physician consultations, medical participation in special housing, home healthcare, and supervision of our resident physicians. You will have the opportunity to work with other colleagues to develop the operations and participate in improvement and quality work both at the health center and in connection with other care. We can proudly boast a district nurse with specialist competence in elderly care, where your collaboration would be central to the care of these patients.

We document in the Webdoc journal system. Currently, the health center has three specialist physicians and four resident physicians. The number of registered patients is approximately 6800, and we work from a rural perspective as we are located in a municipality consisting of ten different islands. We are close to Gothenburg, making it easy to commute by car and public transport. Our main operations are located in nice premises on Hönö, and we have a smaller branch on Björkö that is open two days a week.

Who are you? We are looking for you who are a specialist in geriatrics with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare or equivalent competence in the field and interest in the patient group. Knowledge of Swedish corresponding to C1 is a requirement. A driving license (B) is required. You are confident in your professional role and have an interest in working with many different medical issues across a broad field. You see continuous, long-term outpatient work as the primary means of helping patients achieve good health. You thrive in a dynamic environment and take responsibility in a constantly evolving setting. You can work quickly when needed and make independent decisions. As a person, you are attentive to our patients' needs, and your approach is professional and humble. You see collaboration with municipal primary care and special housing as a natural part of your work.
