Specialist Physician at BUP Stockholm Section Neuropsychiatry
Our organization is growing! Are you a specialist physician looking to work in a well-functioning and pleasant unit where we aim to improve and develop care for children and adolescents with neuropsychiatric disabilities? BUP Stockholm Section Neuropsychiatry is now seeking a specialist physician for a newly established unit in Sickla.
The work is conducted during daytime hours.
BUP Stockholm Section Neuropsychiatry consists of BUP A Way In, as well as currently six neuropsychiatric clinics: Nordost (Mörby), Nordväst (Solna), Sydost (Sickla), Sydväst (Älvsjö), and Väst 1 and 2 (Brommaplan). The mission is urgent and shared: to assess and treat children and young people with neuropsychiatric difficulties. Here, physicians, psychologists, nurses, medical secretaries, and managers collaborate to provide our patients with accessible, effective, and patient-centered care.
The work environment at BUP Neuropsychiatry is characterized by development, high competence, and quality. The units work with medical treatment, assessments, and investigations where the issue is neuropsychiatric difficulties.
Job Description
As a specialist physician, your main responsibilities will include conducting neuropsychiatric assessments of children and adolescents together with a psychologist according to national guidelines and BUP's process maps, initiating medical treatment upon completion of the assessment, and following up on its effects in a team with a nurse. You will provide support to colleagues during treatment conferences and case assessments based on your professional expertise as a physician.
You, like all employees, are an important part of the team and have the opportunity to contribute to continuous development by participating in the ongoing development work of the organization. Currently, about 20 other specialist physicians in child and adolescent psychiatry work within the section.
Qualifications
Applicants should be specialists in child and adolescent psychiatry. Experience working with children and adolescents with neuropsychiatric issues is advantageous, as is familiarity with modern, evidence-based methods. Experience from child psychiatric outpatient care or pediatric clinics is also a merit.

Employment Type
Permanent, full-time. Start as soon as possible, by agreement. On-call duty may be included.

BUP Neuropsychiatry is part of BUP Stockholm. BUP Stockholm offers specialized psychiatric care for children and adolescents aged 0 to 17 within Stockholm County. We are part of the Stockholm County healthcare area, which is a provider within Region Stockholm. Together, we within BUP have about 1,200 employees who each year meet over 22,000 children, adolescents, and their families.
The position will be filled provided it is not needed for internal relocation, according to applicable regulations.
For patient-related work within Stockholm County healthcare area:
- background checks are applied before hiring decisions according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for background checks during hiring.
- employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to applicable directives, which is conducted through occupational health services before employment.
- in addition to Swedish professional licensure, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements apply to non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
