Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
The Hässelby-Vällingby district administration is located in western Stockholm, close to beautiful natural areas and good communications. We are about 1700 proud and dedicated employees who provide high-quality service to the residents of the district every day. Our work environment is characterized by collaboration, courage, and participation. Our strength lies in the diversity among residents, which is also reflected in our employees. Together, we make a difference!
Do you want to help shape something new while developing the outdoor environment for the citizens in our district? Here you will have the opportunity to be involved from the start and build up park maintenance in-house.
Welcome to us
The unit for urban environment and sustainability is part of the department for operational support and urban environment. Our mission is to contribute to an attractive, safe, and sustainable urban environment for the residents of the district. We are responsible for the maintenance and development of the district's parks and natural areas, as well as supporting the administration's operations in achieving the city's sustainability goals.
The unit currently consists of four park engineers, an urban environment strategist, a climate and environmental coordinator, and a unit manager. We are on an exciting journey of change as we will take over the responsibility for park maintenance in-house starting at the end of 2027. In connection with this, we are now expanding the unit with a team leader.
We are now looking for a team leader who, together with us, wants to help build up park maintenance in-house and strengthen the work of the park engineers during a transition period. We are a dedicated team that values dialogue, participation, and collaboration, working every day for a well-functioning and sustainable urban environment.
We offer
Working with urban environment is meaningful work that makes a difference for our residents every day. With us, you will have a varied, educational, and independent job in an organization characterized by development and a lack of pretentiousness.
You will have the opportunity, together with your closest colleagues, to help build up an organization in change and contribute to shaping new ways of working.
As an employee of the City of Stockholm, you will benefit from the city's collective agreement-based benefits, such as wellness grants and vacation exchange. Read more about our benefits here.
Your role
As a team leader in urban environment, you will initially be responsible for helping to build our new park operations. You will be involved from the start, planning and creating routines, assisting with the preparation of premises, and purchasing machines and vehicles. You will also participate in the recruitment of new staff and then be responsible for leading and driving the daily work of the team.
During the startup and transition period, you will not have formal team leader responsibilities. Instead, you will work closely with the park engineers to get to know the operations and strengthen the organization in preparation for the takeover of park maintenance in-house. The role also includes contributing operationally to the organization, which means you will work partly outdoors in the urban environment. We are planning for a gradual transition to in-house park maintenance, so that the transition can occur while maintaining the work environment and quality.
In 2027, the unit plans to hire park workers who will carry out park maintenance in-house. Once the organization is established, you will take on the role of team leader. You will then be responsible for leading and distributing work as well as for the maintenance and cleanliness of park and natural areas within the district. The number of employees will vary throughout the year depending on the season.
You will report directly to the unit manager and will work closely with the park engineers. The role also includes dialogue with citizens in the district and working in the organization's system support, including ISY Road.
Greetings from your future manager
My name is Maria Cassel, and as a manager, I focus on you as an individual and how you can contribute to the development of the organization while I want to support your personal development. Together, we build an organization to be proud of.
