Job Description

Ydre parish encompasses the entire Ydre municipality. Here, there are six churches with cemeteries and four parish halls, all beautifully situated in the scenic Ydre region.

We are now seeking two permanent church and cemetery caretakers starting from April 7, 2026.

Job Responsibilities

The tasks include all maintenance duties typically found in a cemetery, such as mowing, trimming, planting, weeding, hedge trimming, watering, snow removal, etc. Also included are supervision and maintenance of our work machines, as well as various property and facility work.

The work is based in Österbymo, where you will be part of a team with the parish's other caretakers and have primary responsibility for two of our churches and cemeteries. The position also includes duties during funeral services and weekend work every third weekend during services and church ceremonies such as baptisms and weddings.

As you will be in contact with church and cemetery visitors, you should be outgoing and possess good social skills. You should be able to work both independently and in a team, as well as assess which routine tasks need to be performed and when.

Gardening education, experience in green space and property maintenance, machine familiarity, and BE driving license are advantageous.
