Work at the National Archives
Do you want to work at a prestigious authority that is undergoing an exciting transformation to become a more innovative and outward-looking organization that can meet new expectations and demands?
The position involves responding to inquiries, both through work in the reading room, where you welcome our visitors and assist with both the retrieval of archival material and provide guidance. The work also includes responding to inquiries that come to us digitally. At the beginning of your employment with us, we will be in an intensive phase of moving operations to new premises. You will be part of a team with other archivists and administrators in the unit but also have a significant personal responsibility.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A university degree of at least a Bachelor's level in subjects relevant to the position, 180 credits (120 points).
- Archive science at least 30 credits (20 points).
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience in disclosure and assessments according to the Freedom of the Press Act (OSL).
- Experience in information management and archival formation in the public or private sector.
- Experience in customer service.
- Knowledge of reading older handwriting.
Personal qualities:
As a person, you are service-oriented, independent, and have a good ability to take initiative. Furthermore, you have a good ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, as well as a good ability to collaborate. You enjoy interacting with others and like to provide service and guidance. We place great importance on your personal suitability.

The National Archives applies individual salary setting and a 6-month probationary period.

About the unit
The unit is located within the National Archives' department for archival operations. At the National Archives in Härnösand, archives from regional and local authorities are primarily stored, but also archives from nationwide operations and private archives.
