Welcome to Karla Preschools, consisting of seven preschools in Östermalm in central Stockholm.

We are now looking for a chef for the preschool Styrmannen. The preschool has 52 children and 10 staff members.

Your role

We are looking for an initiative-taking chef with a great commitment and interest in cooking. You will prepare meals and bake with the child's best interests in focus, where taste and creativity are part of your daily routine. For you as a chef, the challenge is to get children to taste and eat the food by working with color, shape, and variation in the diet to spark their curiosity. You plan and cook meals from scratch and prepare equivalent special diets based on the children's various allergies. In addition to preparing lunch, you will also prepare snacks every day.

Your work also includes planning purchases and deliveries and making orders via the city's e-commerce portal. You will also receive the goods when they arrive. You are responsible for orderliness, good hygiene, and cleanliness, ensuring the budget is maintained, and conducting self-control. You are responsible for continuously developing your knowledge within your field and keeping informed about new regulations and guidelines. You will collaborate with the educators at the preschool to ensure that mealtimes are enjoyable and educational experiences.

Your qualifications and experience

We are looking for someone who has:

• a degree from a culinary school
• at least 1-3 years of experience in large-scale cooking
• experience in preparing food from scratch in large kitchens
• experience in preparing special diets based on allergies and preferences
• knowledge of nutritional recommendations and the Swedish Food Agency's advice
• good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing

It is an advantage if you have experience working in preschool kitchens.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children and positively engages their curiosity about food. You will work independently in the kitchen, so it is important that you have the ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for driving tasks forward. Since you work with food, special diets, and hygiene controls, you are meticulous in your work. Good communication and collaboration are the foundation for effective work in the preschool. You have the ability to listen and adapt to the person you are communicating with and the current situation. You are service-oriented and show interest in finding solutions.

To work in our preschools, you need to present a certificate from the police's criminal record for work with children.
