School Coordinator for the Placement Group

Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

The Hässelby-Vällingby district administration is located in western Stockholm, close to scenic areas and good transportation. We are about 1700 proud and dedicated employees who provide high-quality service to the residents of the district every day. Our work environment is characterized by collaboration, courage, and participation. Our strength is that the diversity among residents is also present among our employees. Together we make a difference!

Welcome to us

The Placement Unit consists of three groups, each with its own group leader, working with children and young people placed outside their own homes.

Two of the groups work with children placed in foster homes. The third group, the Placement Group, works with children and young people placed in other care forms such as HVB homes and supported housing. The group consists of four social workers and one school coordinator.

Together we shape a social service that is based on what people need. To get closer to our clients and build trust, we are constantly improving how we work. Do you want to help develop our operations to provide the best conditions for children and young people placed outside their homes – apply to us!

We are now expanding with an additional school coordinator for the Placement Group.

We offer

With us, you will have a job where you can develop and work alongside engaged colleagues, and you will receive regular case supervision from your group leader. We have managers who are approachable and easy to reach. You will also receive support from the area's two method developers, and as a new employee, you will go through a well-established introduction program to help you methodically integrate into our tasks and routines.

As an employee with us, you will have:

  • a network-based working method where the family's resources are utilized

As a school coordinator, you will participate in experience exchange/network meetings with other school coordinators in the city with support from the social administration and together with the education administration.

Your role

Furthermore, the school coordinator is involved in the development of care plans and is proactive in establishing and following up on implementation plans, writing about schooling in considerations and reassessments. The school coordinator focuses on school attendance and academic results. The school coordinator will maintain contact with the child/young person's school before, during, and after the placement and actively follow up on schooling.

The school coordinator's tasks include:

  • Responsibility for and operational support to social workers in matters concerning schooling and prerequisites for schooling.
  • Documentation regarding school issues directly in the child/young person's case.
  • Preparations for school transfers according to the city's routines (SAMS), which includes ensuring that there is documentation regarding the child's schooling and that the new school receives the information available.
  • Gathering the child/young person's and guardians' experiences of what has worked or not worked regarding schooling and ensuring that this information is communicated to those concerned.
  • Continuously following the child's schooling.
  • In connection with moving home, working to ensure that schooling is planned, initiated, and that the child/young person and guardians receive the support needed to maintain functioning schooling.

You are curious, want to develop and learn new things to make a difference. As a person, you are stable and appreciate collaborating with colleagues but are also self-driven when needed. It is important for you to always have the child's best interests in focus, and you place great emphasis on collaboration and alliance-building, both with the children and young people you work with, their networks, and other partners.

We place great importance on your personal suitability. Welcome with your application!
