The orthopedic and hand surgery department conducts university hospital care and clinical research at the region's three hospitals: Örebro University Hospital, Karlskoga Hospital, and Lindesberg Hospital. The department provides care across the entire orthopedic field, including highly specialized care. A comprehensive restructuring is underway in the area to improve accessibility, quality, and cost-effectiveness. The establishment of a clinical research unit is an important part of the development work.

Assistant Nurse to Orthopedic Ward 6, Karlskoga Hospital
Job ResponsibilitiesHere you will meet patients who have suffered an acute fracture, for example, after a fall or minor trauma. The ward has a significant acute mission and receives patients from the entire region who have sustained a fracture. We have developed a high level of nursing competence for patients with hip fractures. A "straight path" has been established in collaboration with ambulance services, emergency departments, and radiology. The aim is for the patient to quickly reach the care ward for treatment. We also have planned admissions and surgeries for patients undergoing shoulder surgery and spinal surgery for herniated discs. Nursing work is carried out in our three nursing groups, consisting of nurses, assistant nurses, and rehabilitation professionals from physiotherapy and occupational therapy. The nursing work focuses on preoperative and postoperative care, where pain relief and mobilization are key components. The assistant nurse works both with basic care and qualified care such as wound dressing, sampling, and urinary catheterization.
On weekdays, we have discharge coordinators and catering staff, providing care-related services in our operations.

QualificationsWe welcome you who are a trained assistant nurse, preferably with a focus on emergency care according to previous program structure, or are a trained assistant nurse within the current program structure. To assess employability, transcripts from your nursing education and proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare regarding protected professional title must be attached to your application.
Experience from acute and/or inpatient care is an advantage. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
About the Position:
Permanent employment. You will work day, evening, and weekends according to scheduling, where you have a great opportunity to influence how your shifts are distributed. The introduction will take place through mentorship and will be planned individually according to the needs of the new employee.
