Strategist for the Labor Market Administration
Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for someone who wants to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Stockholm is flourishing as the country's leading growth region. We work for a labor market where everyone can find their place – where employers find the right skills and where people have the opportunity to enter or return to the workforce. We support the journey of Stockholmers towards work or studies through labor market initiatives and adult education.
We are now looking for a strategist to help drive the administration's mission forward.
Welcome to us
The Strategy and Coordination Office is responsible for city-wide and cross-administrative assignments. We support the administration's activities in strategic matters. The office employs about 50 staff members, five of whom report to the department head. We operate based on a trust-based approach.
We offer
We offer you:
- an exciting assignment where you contribute to the development of the entire administration
- engaged colleagues with broad knowledge
- an innovative workplace where collaboration is key
- a flexible workplace near Globen, close to subway and tram
- healthcare allowance
- flexible working hours
- the possibility of vacation exchange, which means five or six extra vacation days.
Your role
As a strategist, you will ensure and strengthen the administration's ability to manage and develop our mission - to help more Stockholmers work and study.
Your tasks mainly involve:
- closely collaborating with the head of administration, management, and the head of the Jobbtorg Stockholm department
- supporting management and the head of Jobbtorg Stockholm in ensuring that our offerings to Stockholmers are of high quality, meet legal requirements, and fulfill the expectations of the city council and the board
- initiating, planning, supporting, and driving strategic development within the administration and for the Jobbtorg Stockholm department
- driving processes in current assignments and preparing for changes
- investigating and analyzing various assignments, such as reports and decision-making documents, often in close collaboration with colleagues within the office
- actively working with the board's and department's governing documents
- monitoring changes in society and legislation.
You report to your department head. You have a lot of freedom in your work, while you can always count on support from your manager.
Your skills and experience
We are looking for someone who has:
- a university degree, preferably in public administration and political science, or similar that is relevant to the position
- current knowledge of the Social Services Act, public administration, and labor market policy at the municipal and state level
- several years of relevant experience working with strategy and development issues
- several years of experience in qualified investigative work, such as writing reports, decision-making documents, evaluations, and consultation responses
- driven issues together with managers and key functions within the organization
- good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.
It is an advantage if you have:
- led large strategic investigations and development projects
- worked with leading and providing support in processes
- worked within public administration.
To thrive in this role, you need to have a strategic ability and a holistic perspective. You have good collaboration skills and are used to adapting your communication so that it reaches everyone. To succeed in the role, you need to be goal- and results-oriented and able to adjust your focus when circumstances change. You are development-oriented and have the courage to try new ways of working. In this recruitment, we place great importance on personal suitability, commitment, and motivation for the position.
Warm welcome with your application!
