Investigator in the Vaccination Field
The Public Health Agency of Sweden is a national knowledge authority working for better public health. What will you work with?
We are looking for you for a role that includes conducting vaccination investigations, government assignments, and handling referrals. In this role, you will work with disease and vaccine surveillance as well as monitoring. An important part of the work is knowledge dissemination, networking, and communication.
Your specific responsibilities will also include project management.
As an investigator, other usual tasks at the agency will also be included.
Who are we looking for?
Requirements for employment: Licensed physician with specialist competence in a field relevant to the tasks, such as infectious diseases, pediatrics, general medicine, immunology, clinical pharmacology, social medicine, and/or clinical microbiology or another relevant specialty. Licensure and specialist training must be approved in Sweden. You have experience in work or research related to vaccinations, immunology, microbiology, or infectious disease control.

- Documented analytical ability, through experience in independently analyzing and compiling health data from, for example, scientific publications and other literature, preferably focusing on the follow-up of vaccination programs/recommendations and new vaccines.
- Experience working in knowledge-based organizations and developing systematic literature reviews.
- Experience in developing and communicating guidelines, care programs, follow-up programs, or infectious disease control documents.
- Experience working in expert groups, clinical investigations, research projects, or similar.
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing.
- Great emphasis is placed on:
- Research experience.
- Experience participating in work with vaccination issues, e.g., in expert groups, clinical investigations, research projects, vaccination programs, and/or follow-up.
- Work with infectious disease control issues.
- Importance is placed on:
- Education in epidemiology and/or public health science.
- Experience in knowledge dissemination to healthcare professionals.
- Experience in management, project management, or other leadership.
- Education at the doctoral level.
What does the unit do?
The Vaccination Unit coordinates, is responsible for, and develops materials and recommendations regarding vaccinations and vaccination programs.
Main tasks:
- Coordinate, monitor, and follow up on the national vaccination programs at the national level.
- Develop materials and recommendations for the government on whether new vaccinations should be included in national vaccination programs.
- Be responsible for regulations and recommendations in the vaccination field.
- Conduct systematic follow-up, analysis, and development of national vaccination programs and the diseases covered.
- Be responsible for monitoring several diseases that can be prevented by vaccination.
- Follow and support work on vaccine acceptance.
- Disseminate knowledge about infectious diseases, vaccinations, and other issues relevant to the unit's target groups.
- Collaborate on unit-relevant issues with the Nordic countries, EU, ECDC, and WHO.

About the employment
You will be employed as an investigator based at our office in Solna or Östersund. The position is a permanent full-time employment that begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date will be as soon as possible by agreement.
As an employee at the Public Health Agency of Sweden, you may be placed in a war position. Certain positions are placed in a security class where Swedish citizenship may be a requirement. A security review will then be conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).
At the agency, there may be an opportunity to enter into an agreement for remote work up to 40 percent of your working time.
