Capio S:t Görans Hospital

At Capio S:t Görans Hospital, you work at the center of events, in a 'just right' sized hospital with a strong sense of community, around 2,500 proud employees and satisfied patients. We are a hospital with high quality, a well-functioning organization with short decision-making paths and managers who are present in everyday life. We always want to develop, provide better and more efficient care to patients, but also take care of you, utilize your ideas, your skills, and help you grow.

About us

At the emergency clinic, we strive to be Sweden's leading emergency care provider. We have a strong tradition of being at the forefront of acute care and continuously working on improvement efforts focused on patient-centered care. The emergency clinic has a good collaboration with other clinics in the hospital, and we actively work to develop well-functioning care chains both within the hospital and with our partners, such as geriatric clinics, urgent care centers, and health centers in the area.

The emergency clinic includes the Emergency Department and our three wards, AVA, IMA, and MAVA. We provide emergency care around the clock every day of the year. Within the clinic, there is both an inpatient section and an outpatient section. We have 40 specialists within the clinic, many of whom are double specialists in related subspecialties. In emergency medicine, we have 15 specialists and about 35 resident doctors. We are organized with section managers in both outpatient and inpatient care, as well as two resident and junior doctor managers.

We are now looking for specialist doctors who want to help develop our emergency services!

Your role

As a specialist doctor in emergency medicine, most of your working hours will be spent in the emergency department where you will handle patients in both the medical and surgical flows. For those who wish, there is an opportunity for ward work, e.g., in IMA. You will work both as a leading physician and as a managing specialist doctor. The working hours are spread throughout the day, but currently more focused on daytime and evening. We actively work with sustainable scheduling, and there are good opportunities to take leave for the compensation that is generated.

You will be central to our training work for resident doctors, AT doctors, BT doctors, and medical students. You are expected to be a supervisor and engage in the education of our future specialist colleagues as well as engage in the clinic's improvement efforts. Since 2021, the hospital has been a University Hospital Unit (USV) and encourages interest in research.

Qualifications

You have specialist competence in emergency medicine. It is an advantage if you have experience in teaching and/or research.

As a person, you are interested in advancing the specialty of emergency medicine. You are also interested in people and enjoy working in a team with others. You are unpretentious and eager to learn more, while also willing to share your knowledge and experience when needed. We offer you

  • Flexible working hours and sustainable scheduling.

  • Opportunities for professional development with educational grants.

  • Access to the Benifex portal with many benefits and discounts.

  • Staff accommodation

  • Share your knowledge and mentor future colleagues.

  • Engage in research as part of our role as a University Hospital Unit (USV).

Application

Do you want to help drive the work of emergency medicine forward? We look forward to hearing from you. We work with continuous selection and interviews, so the position may be filled before the application deadline.
