Töjnaskolan is looking for a school nurse

Töjnaskolan is a school with approximately 800 students from preschool class to grade 9. For the school year 24/25, we have three parallel classes in each grade, from preschool class to grade 9. The school is located in central Sollentuna with good transport links and well-adapted facilities as the school opened in 2020-2021. The operation is based on a value foundation where the vision is Töjnaskolan CAN, Knowledge, Responsibility, and Curiosity. In your role as a school nurse, you will work together with a colleague and operate at the individual, group, and organizational levels.

Mission

The school nurse's mission is to collaborate with school management and other student health personnel to create the best possible conditions for students' health, development, and learning based on their medical expertise. The role of the school nurse involves working health-promoting and preventive in accordance with the municipality's basic program and based on the governing documents in the Health and Medical Services Act, the Education Act, and guidance for student health. Health visits, health conversations, vaccinations, open reception, and consultations with the school doctor are part of your mission.

You will be part of the school's student health team and contribute your expertise in medicine and nursing. The work involves collaboration with students, parents, school staff, as well as organizations and authorities outside the school.

Qualifications

Competence requirements: Licensed nurse with specialist nursing education in health and medical care for children and adolescents, open health and medical care, or specialist education in the school nurse program.

If you have previously worked as a school nurse or have experience in health-promoting work with children and youth, we see this as very positive. In your role, it is important that you have a good approach, can build trust with students and guardians, possess good planning and prioritization skills while being flexible in situations that require it. Furthermore, we want you to have good collaboration skills and be responsible. Experience with the digital journal system Prorenata is an advantage.

Organization

In Sollentuna municipality, school nurses are employed at the school with the principal as the immediate supervisor. It is also the principal who leads the student health work at the school. For the medical interventions, there is an operations manager responsible for advice, support, and guidelines regarding the medical work.
