Business Description

We are now looking for a colleague who wants to work with us in the Pathology Laboratories.

The Pathology Laboratory within Clinical Pathology at Sahlgrenska University Hospital is an organization in transition with a new laboratory information system coming in 2026, and development with a strong focus on digitalization within the laboratory and diagnostics.

The laboratory employs approximately 90 people, mainly biomedical analysts, making it the largest pathology laboratory in the country. The laboratory examines cell and tissue samples for the presence of pathological changes. This is mainly done using light microscopy, and the pathology laboratories process the tissue samples in preparation for this examination.

Job Description

At the Pathology Laboratories, we work in teams with biomedical analysts, laboratory technicians, laboratory assistants, nursing assistants, and doctors. The position involves unpacking incoming samples, assisting with sectioning, maintaining laboratory instruments, including changing chemicals and cleaning.

About You

For this position, you must be a trained nursing assistant with a professional certificate. Experience in laboratory work is an advantage.

To succeed in this role, we see that you have the desire to contribute to the best for the patient and to a good working environment. You have good collaboration skills, a positive attitude, and are flexible in your work. You need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as good computer skills. As a person, you are meticulous and structured and have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. You enjoy collaborating and working in a team and have good communication skills.
