The area of operation (VO) Children and Adolescents consists of the pediatric emergency department, an inpatient ward, a daycare, a neonatal unit, and a specialist clinic. We receive children and adolescents between 0 and 18 years whose problems require the expertise and resources of a specialized unit.

VO Children and Adolescents is known for a staff-driven working method and a continuous spirit of improvement where collaboration is a major success factor. Collaboration is an important part of your everyday life as you will largely work in a team together with pediatric specialists, social workers, pediatric nurses, and nursing assistants. Everyone's expertise is utilized to arrive at the absolute best solution for the patient. We currently have an experienced dietitian who will be your closest colleague and guide during your initial time in the role.

The Central Hospital (CSK) in Kristianstad is a place for long-term sick children in need of specialized care and attention, where specialist competence, continuity, and accessibility are the focus. Patients come from all specialties at the Central Hospital Kristianstad and from other hospitals across Sweden. This means an exciting and developing job, where the meeting with the child and family is at the center.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a dietitian with us, you will meet children and adolescents who vary in both diagnosis and age. You will work with patients who are hospitalized and with your own patients in outpatient visits. The work includes making assessments, prescribing and providing appropriate advice, as well as prescribing food for specific nutritional purposes. Educating parents, children, and healthcare staff is also part of the job, so you should be comfortable speaking in front of people.

Collaboration is an important part of your everyday life, and you will largely work in a team together with pediatric specialists, social workers, pediatric nurses, and nursing assistants. There are also other dietitians within the organization, and together you support each other as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed dietitian with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required. It is an advantage if you have previously worked as a dietitian in pediatric and adolescent care.

You who apply have a great interest in pediatric and adolescent care and always act in the best interest of the patient. The work requires good collaboration skills and that you are confident and stable in your professional role. It is important that you have the ability to adapt to current circumstances and the sometimes rapid changes between emergency care for hospitalized children and planned patient visits.
