About the Position
Do you want to make a real difference for the environment – while creating functional and inspiring work environments?
As a furniture coordinator for reuse in Trollhättan City, you will play a key role in our sustainability efforts.
You will be responsible for ensuring that furniture and decor are reused in a smart, economical, and environmentally friendly way when organizations move, change, or redecorate their premises.
The role involves close collaboration with both organizations, municipal companies, other municipalities, suppliers, and reuse actors – and requires a combination of structure, creativity, and practical problem-solving.
Your Main Responsibilities
- Coordinate and plan the reuse of furniture during moves, renovations, and new establishments
- Conduct inventories of existing furniture stock and assess condition, function, and reuse potential
- Project manage furniture purchases for larger projects, such as furnishing a new school or special housing for the elderly (SÄBO)
- Collaborate with internal organizations, procurement officers, project managers, environmental coordinators, and external partners such as architects and furniture reuse companies
- Develop routines and working methods for circular flows within furniture management
- Contribute to the municipality achieving its sustainability goals through increased reuse and reduced new procurement
- Follow up and report on reuse effects – both environmental and economic
- System administrator for the furniture platform Place2Place
- Hold primary responsibility for furniture purchases within Trollhättan City
Qualifications
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in logistics, environmental science, building or property management, or other experience deemed equivalent by the employer
- Experience in furniture management, inventory, moving, or interior design projects
- Documented experience in project management and/or coordinating roles, preferably within public sector or real estate
- Excellent knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
- Strong computer skills
- Driving license B, manual
Meritorious
- Experience working in the public sector
- Knowledge of circular economy, environmental management, or sustainable procurement
- Experience with digital platforms for reuse (e.g., Place2Place)
- Familiarity with ergonomics and workplace requirements related to furnishing
Personal Attributes
We are looking for someone with a genuine commitment to sustainability and reuse. You are structured, solution-oriented, have the ability to see the big picture, and find it easy to collaborate with different professional groups. You also have the ability to plan and drive projects independently.
You enjoy combining office work with practical tasks and can handle both details and overarching issues.
