About Tjärö
Tjärö, an island of 75 hectares, located in the middle of Blekinge Archipelago. Tjärö offers accommodation in charming small houses from the 1800s. There are 137 beds distributed across 52 rooms in 13 different houses. In addition to lodging, there are conference facilities, a restaurant, a café, and a marina with over 70 boat slips. You can reach the island by boat from Järnavik, Karlshamn, or Matvik.
About Tjärö's restaurant
The restaurant at Tjärö is open for breakfast, lunch, à la carte, events, and theme nights every day of the week. The restaurant has a capacity of about 100 guests in the dining room, 40 guests on the veranda, and a large outdoor terrace overlooking the marina. During the low season, the conference operations increase the workload in the kitchen, and during the high season and weekends, there is a greater focus on day guests, overnight guests, and boat guests.
The kitchen team consists of between 3-8 people depending on the season. This means our staff must be prepared to be flexible regarding working hours, workstations, and always be part of the practical work.
Job Responsibilities
- Preparation and cooking of lunch buffets and à la carte.
- Handling food items and being able to place and receive orders.
- Self-control.
- Ongoing inventory.
- Handling a cash register and taking table orders via phone.
- Being helpful and creative regarding menus, theme nights, and events.
Who are you?
- You are responsible, positive, creative, and wish to provide our guests with 100% service together with our serving team.
- You have experience with à la carte and are used to a fast-paced environment.
- You believe you would thrive on an island close to the sea and nature.
