Water and Sewage Network
Are you a problem solver? Do you want to be part of Uppsala's growth and the development and digitalization of our operations? We are now looking for an investigation engineer focused on monitoring, management, and development of the public water and sewage network.
About the Position
As an investigation engineer, you will work to ensure a long-term sustainable water supply by monitoring the function of the public water and sewage network. Your tasks will include identifying and investigating development and renewal needs, proposing measures, delineating project areas, and establishing project directives for prioritized renewal objects.
This position places extra emphasis on monitoring the function of the public water and sewage network. You will lead efforts to expand the monitoring of water, wastewater, and stormwater networks, including flow and level measurements, gas meters, and other sensors. You will also be responsible for analyzing data and identifying suitable areas for improvement.
To ensure progress in expanding the monitoring of the water and sewage network, broad collaboration within the company is required. You will be in contact with field technicians, the IT department, the wastewater department responsible for treatment plants and pumping stations, and the drinking water department responsible for water treatment plants and pressure boosting stations.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Leading the department's efforts to achieve reliable measurement data through more and better flow and level meters, sensors, and other equipment.
- Planning and conducting flow measurements and other measurements in the public water and sewage network.
- Ensuring the collection, quality review, and storage of measurement data.
- Analyzing measurement data to identify problems and changes due to capacity issues, inflow water, etc., and proposing actions.
- Investigating the public water and sewage network's need for renewal, reinforcement, or reconstruction.
- Developing project ideas and project directives for investment decisions.
You will report to the group manager in the management group in the network planning section and be part of a team of investigation engineers working together on the management and renewal of the network. Within your section, there are also strategists and engineers in hydraulic modeling for support. Your workplace will be in our offices in Uppsala Business Park and Librobäck, with the possibility of remote work. Some fieldwork will also be included.
Qualifications
- Master's degree/bachelor's degree in environmental and water engineering or similar, or another higher education degree combined with extensive experience in water and sewage issues.
- Experience in measurement and analysis of measurement data.
- Previous experience in water and sewage investigations, planning, and/or design.
- Good communication skills in both spoken and written form.
- Driver's license (B).
We are looking for someone who is solution-oriented, driven, and has strong analytical skills. To thrive in this role, we believe you have the ability to independently drive your work forward, but also that you are relationship-building and have good collaboration skills, as the role involves many internal contacts. We place great importance on your personal qualities and want you to share our common core values of being attentive, forward-thinking, and curious, and to apply them in your professional role.
Application
We conduct ongoing selection and interviews, so please submit your application as soon as possible, but no later than January 18, 2026. With reference to GDPR, we do not accept applications via email.
