Orthopedic Care Unit B, Orthopedic Clinic, Värnamo Hospital
Do you want to help ensure both your own and many others' summer, be part of a well-functioning team, and develop in your own professional role – then you should apply for a summer job as a nurse at the orthopedic clinic at Värnamo Hospital. Welcome to us!
The Role of the Nurse
The orthopedic clinic is looking for summer substitute nurses for orthopedic care unit B. Patients with acute orthopedic injuries and diseases that need treatment are cared for here around the clock. The work includes, among other things, optimization before surgery, meaning that you are responsible for care and pain relief. You also play an important role in the patient's rehabilitation after surgery. We want the patient to be involved in their care, which means that communication, as well as contact with relatives, is a very important part of the work.
Teamwork is important to us. As a nurse, you work in a team together with doctors, nursing assistants, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists. Your working hours are during the day, evening, and weekend. We have individual schedule planning so you can influence which shifts you work.
The summer job is a fixed-term full-time employment. We need summer substitutes from week 25-32. It is an advantage if you can work many of – or all – the weeks. We also appreciate if you have the opportunity to shadow during the spring.
Your Future Workplace
Värnamo Hospital has repeatedly ranked at the very top – and even in first place – in Dagens Medicins ranking of Sweden's best medium-sized hospitals. The orthopedic clinic offers orthopedic surgical care with high patient safety and good accessibility.

Your Profile
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse or who will graduate as a nurse no later than June 2026.
To thrive with us, you need to be interested in orthopedics and enjoy being part of a team. You like having a lot of patient contact, you have a professional attitude, and you take responsibility for your tasks. You find it easy to collaborate, and you have a positive attitude towards both tasks and colleagues. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Our Offer to You
We offer a summer job that we are sure will develop both your skills and your experience. At the same time, we have all been beginners, and we know that it is not always easy. Therefore, we do our best to ensure that you feel safe, excited, and prepared for your summer job with us. Before you start working, you will receive an individual introduction based on your needs and experiences. Depending on your experiences, we can adjust so that you do not have sole patient responsibility.
For those who continue their employment after the summer, we offer you to participate in one of Sweden's best introduction and development programs for newly graduated nurses – RIU. The program includes 20 full days spread over eight months with lectures, internships, and reflections. RIU gives you an opportunity to meet other nurses in the same situation where you exchange experiences and provide each other with advice and support.
