The Role of Nursing Assistant/Care Assistant

The orthopedic clinic is looking for summer substitutes for orthopedic care unit B. Patients with acute orthopedic injuries and diseases that require treatment are cared for here around the clock. As a summer worker in care unit B, you will work with optimization in connection with surgery. This means you are responsible for basic care before and after the procedure itself. You will actively work with rehabilitation together with the patient, including areas such as mobilization, nutrition, and preventive work to prevent pressure sores and care-related infections. Your working hours will be during the day, evening, and weekends.

The summer jobs are temporary full-time positions. We need substitute nursing assistants/care assistants from week 25-32. It is an advantage if you can work many of – or all – the weeks. We also appreciate if you have the opportunity to shadow during the spring.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant or will be by June 2026 at the latest. Another option is that you are studying to become a nurse or doctor. In that case, we would like you to have completed your third semester, but individual assessment can occur earlier.

Our Recruitment Process

If you are not yet finished with your studies, please attach a LADOK extract or other certificate showing completed courses. If you already have a verbal agreement regarding a summer substitute position with a manager at the orthopedic clinic at Värnamo Hospital, please indicate that person's name in your application.

As the title of nursing assistant has been protected since July 1, 2023, you will need to indicate in your application whether you have a certificate for the protected title. If you currently have a permanent position as a nursing assistant and do not have a certificate for the protected title, we ask you to attach a certificate of your permanent position in your application to continue holding the title of nursing assistant.
