Safety Business Partner

Do you want to work in a consultative role where you can make a real difference in occupational health and safety? With us, you have the chance to contribute to a Stena without accidents – while developing both yourself and our operations.

About the Role

As a Safety Business Partner, you are a key person in creating safe, secure, and well-functioning work environments at our facilities and branches. You work both strategically and operationally, providing consultative support to managers and local functions throughout the organization.

You are responsible for developing, implementing, and following up on our occupational health and safety processes and safety routines. This means translating legal requirements, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies into concrete and operationally adapted working methods. In practice, this can involve:

  • supporting managers in their systematic occupational health and safety work, both in planned forums and in urgent needs.
  • conducting analyses, risk assessments, and investigations, as well as driving corrective actions.
  • monitoring legislation and ensuring that new requirements are introduced in an effective and pragmatic manner.
  • collaborating with various functions to develop and update policies, routines, plans, and guidelines.
  • following up on compliance, identifying areas for improvement, and initiating or driving development and training efforts.
  • participating in projects and contributing to continuous improvements in occupational health and safety.

You will be part of a central team that works operationally with the entire area related to physical work environments, and you will report to the Head of Safety and Security. In addition to your daily contact with line managers, you will also collaborate closely with other central and local functions such as KMA coordinators, HR, and the environmental/permit department. Travel with overnight stays may occur in the role.

Location: Any Stena Recycling branch in Sweden.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • At least three years of experience in a similar role where you have successfully driven strategic and operational improvement work in physical work environments and safety.
  • Good knowledge of physical work environment risks, machine safety, and work machinery/traffic.
  • Education as an occupational health and safety engineer or equivalent experience.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft 365.
  • Driving license B.

We consider it an advantage if you have experience in project management, good knowledge of chemical work environment risks, and/or are used to working with occupational health and safety issues related to fire. It is also highly meritorious if you have worked with risk management, continuity planning, or Seveso issues and can demonstrate this.

Who are you?

To succeed in this role, we see that you are a relationship-building and communicative person who easily adapts your message to the audience. With a curious and pedagogical approach, you make complex information understandable and help others implement it in practice. You work analytically and solution-oriented, take responsibility for driving your work independently, and prioritize effectively. At the same time, you thrive in a role where you are expected to set requirements when needed – you dare to challenge, set clear demands on managers, and follow up to ensure that decisions are implemented in practice.

What We Offer

Safety is always at the top of our agenda, and here you have the opportunity to drive development and improvement in a company that prioritizes your area! You will be part of a market-leading and competent organization in a role with great freedom of action. As part of a larger group, there are many opportunities for you to grow, both individually and together with us. We offer you competitive compensation and secure benefits, read more here.

Application and Recruitment Process

The application period is open until January 19. In this process, we do not want you to submit a cover letter; instead, you will be asked to answer a few initial questions. Those invited for an interview will also be asked to undergo tests as a piece of the whole. Since the Christmas holidays are approaching, we plan to start the selection process after Christmas and New Year.
