What will you work with?

We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to the development of public health monitoring in Sweden. In this role, you will work with the agency's comprehensive monitoring system for good and equitable health. Your assignment includes following up and analyzing indicators based on various data sources. The unit for public health reporting and evaluation is also responsible for conveying target group-adapted knowledge within its area of responsibility through various channels. Your task includes creating knowledge and insights that guide the work towards health on equal terms – and conveying these in a target group-adapted manner through various channels to ensure that knowledge reaches the right target groups and contributes to concrete actions.

As an investigator, you will also assist in the implementation of government assignments related to monitoring and evaluation within the public health policy area.

In addition, other tasks as an investigator at the agency include preparing decision-making materials, handling referrals, and collaborating with both internal and external actors to advance the issues.

The position is a 6-month temporary position.

Who are we looking for?

Requirements for employment:

• Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as epidemiology, social sciences, public health sciences, or similar areas.
• Documented multi-year experience in investigative and developmental work within the field of public health.
• Experience in compiling and interpreting data from various sources necessary for the work of monitoring the national public health policy.

• Experience in investigative and developmental work at a government agency or in a municipality and/or region.
• Documented analytical ability, experience in independently compiling and interpreting data, preferably focusing on monitoring the health of the population.
• Personal qualities such as good collaboration skills, being responsible and exercising self-leadership, being curious about new working methods, and having a good approach. You easily adopt a holistic perspective.

Great importance is placed on:

• Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

What does the unit do?

The unit for public health reporting and evaluation is responsible for the overall monitoring of the public health policy goal and its target areas, as well as monitoring certain non-communicable diseases that have particular significance for public health. This includes monitoring and analyzing indicators from various data sources. The unit is also responsible for conveying target group-adapted knowledge within its area of responsibility through various channels.

The unit's responsibilities include conducting follow-ups on health equity and the health status of different population groups. This includes a responsibility to follow up on the national disability policy. The unit is also responsible for monitoring and evaluating public health policy interventions. The unit must be prepared to lead and implement government assignments related to monitoring and evaluation within the public health policy area.

About the employment

You will be employed as an investigator based at our office in Solna or Östersund. The position is a full-time temporary position from 2026-03-01 to 2026-09-30.

As an employee at the Public Health Agency of Sweden, you may be subject to military placement. Certain positions are classified where Swedish citizenship may be a requirement. Security screening will then be conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).

At the agency, there may be opportunities to enter into an agreement for remote work up to 40 percent of your working time.
