Job Description

You will support the regional management and the region's operations with legal advice and investigative work. It is a varied, challenging, and dynamic job. On an overarching level, you contribute to monitoring, driving, and developing the legal area for the region's operations.

You will work with the handling of legal matters, advising the region's various operations, representing the region in court, preparing responses to departments and supervisory authorities, and working with the region's governing documents. You will decide on matters regarding the disclosure of public documents. You will participate as an expert in various working groups and investigations and educate and inform the organization on legal issues.

Central legal areas for our unit include healthcare law, administrative law, and IT law in a broad sense, such as public access and confidentiality, municipal law, data protection, and information security, among others. There are also issues related to the region's subsidiaries and interest companies. Appointment as a data protection officer may be relevant.

Work Group

The position is placed within the legal unit that provides operational and strategic support in legal matters, political case management, information management, and record-keeping to political leadership, the regional director, functions for strategic governance and management, as well as other operations of Region Östergötland.

About You

We are looking for someone who is a lawyer with a legal degree and in-depth competence in the legal areas we are seeking. It is meritorious if you have experience from public operations, preferably from court, government agency, or larger politically governed organizations with complex organizational and decision-making structures, as well as experience and knowledge in administrative law, IT law, data protection, and contract law.

It is also meritorious if you have experience in conducting training and have previous experience in development work, such as developing governing documents, participating in process work, and similar tasks.

As a person, you focus on solutions, initiate activities, and achieve results. You have the ability to see issues from an operational perspective and the courage to tackle complex questions. In the role, you meet people in various contexts, and therefore you need to be communicative, easy to collaborate with, and responsive to different situations and needs. You act in a way that helps build trust internally and for Region Östergötland.
